Dr. Debashis
Bhattacharya
Dr. Bhattacharya, a co-founder, is the President and
CEO of Simbiosys Biowares. Previously, he was a co-founder
and CTO of Zenasis Technologies. Earlier Dr. Bhattacharya
was a member of technical staff at Texas Instruments
and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Yale
University. He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Michigan and a B.Tech. from
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.
He holds 8 patents and has over 25 publications. He
has served and chaired in many prestigious conferences.
Dr. Rob Roy
Dr. Roy, a co-founder of Simbiosys Biowares, was previously
the chief technology strategist of Mobilian Corp,
which was acquired by Intel in 2003. His previous
experience includes engineering and management positions
at Intel, NEC, GE, and AT&T Bell Labs. He was an adjunct
faculty at Princeton University and Univ. Massachusetts,
Amherst. He has been granted 7 US and International
patents. Rob also serves on the Board of Directors
of Wi2Wi and Alumnus Software Limited. Dr. Roy got
his B.Tech degree in Electronics & Electrical Communication
Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and
his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering
from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Deepak Chavda
Dr. Chavda, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon,
is the founder of the Texas Bone & Joint Center. He
began his medical career as a post-doctoral fellow
in Internal Medicine at the M.D. Anderson Hospital
in Houston. He was also a pathology resident at St.
Louis Medical Center, and a resident in Internal Medicine
at Duke University/VA Medical Center in North Carolina.
He completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University
of Nebraska/Creighton Univ. Dr. Chavda has published
numerous articles for journals. He is a fellow member
of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and
a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Mr. Amar Sawla
Mr. Sawla is the President of First Intercontinental
Corp. He has been deeply involved in the global pharmaceutical
industry.

Dr.
Morton J. Cowan
Dr. Cowan is the chairman of the Technical Advisory
Board. He is the Director of the Pediatric Bone Marrow
Transplant Program at the Univ. of California, San
Francisco. He is recognized throughout the world for
research in immunodeficiency diseases, the use of
alternative donors, and in utero stem cell transplantation.
Dr. Suresh Katti
Dr. Katti is a Principal
Research Scientist for Bayer Healthcare where he has
been a winner of the Bayer Science and Technology
Award. He is involved in the Anti-cancer drug development
program at Bayer Healthcare USA.
Dr.
William C. Hyun
Dr. Hyun is the Director of the Laboratory for Cell
Analysis (LCA) at the Univ. of California, San Francisco
Comprehensive Cancer Center. His credentials include
the commercial implementation of key technologies
in flow cytometry, digital fluorescence imaging and
confocal microscopy.

Committee
The Simbiosys Bioethics Committee is a group of people
from different disciplines and professions involved
in health care delivery and health care research whose
function is to help monitor ethical issues that may
arise in the course of Simbiosys' research activities.
The Committee's goal is to maintain high standards
of medical ethics in the development of healthcare
solutions.
